Privacy Policy

The short version: the app collects no personal data, needs no account with us, and
has no analytics and no advertising. Your camera and microphone go only to the
streaming destinations you configure. Everything below is detail on that.

What the app accesses, and why
- Camera and microphone: to capture the video and audio you stream or record.
This media is encoded on your device and sent only to the destinations you add (for example your
Twitch or Kick ingest, an SRT/SRTLA receiver you control, or a local recording file). We never
receive it.
- Network: to deliver your stream, including over several networks at once
(Wi-Fi and cellular) when you use bonding.
- Notifications: a persistent status notification while capture is running.
What stays on your device
Your settings, scenes, and stream destinations (including stream keys and passphrases you enter)
are stored locally on your device and nowhere else. Config export files are created only when you
ask, saved where you choose, and deliberately exclude stream keys.
Third-party services the app talks to
Only at your direction, and only these kinds:
- Your streaming destinations: the ingest servers you configure receive your
stream under their own privacy terms.
- Chat and emotes: if you add a chat overlay, the app connects to the
platform's public chat (Twitch, Kick), anonymously unless you sign in, and fetches public emote
and badge images from Twitch, 7TV, BTTV and FFZ. These services see your device's IP address,
as any internet connection does.
- Chat sign-in (optional): to reply to chat from the app you can sign in with
your Twitch or Kick account. Sign-in tokens are stored only on your device and sent only to the
platform they belong to. For Kick, the sign-in exchange passes through a small server of ours
whose only job is to hold Kick's application secret: it forwards your request to Kick and keeps
no copy of the token. Signing in is never required to stream or to read chat.
- OBS: if you use OBS remote control, the app talks to your own OBS on your
local network.
- LOLS Cloud relays: if you choose one of our free bonding relays as a
destination, your stream passes through that server on its way to your platform. Relays forward
in real time and record nothing; like any server you connect to, a relay sees your device's IP
address while you stream.
What we collect
The app itself: nothing. It contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs and phones home to
no one. If this ever changes (for example, optional crash reporting), this policy will be updated
first and any collection will be opt-in.
The optional relay key service (relay-auth.lols.gg) stores the key it issued to you and, for
rate-limiting only, a salted hash of the requesting IP address, not the address itself. Creating a
key requires signing in with Twitch, and we store the Twitch account id and username that sign-in
returns, so that the monthly allowance belongs to a person rather than to a key. We ask Twitch for
no permissions beyond identifying you, and we never receive your Twitch password. Keys created
before sign-in was introduced are not linked to any account.
Children
The app is a general-audience tool for live streamers and is not directed at children.
Your rights
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Your
data is on your device and under your control. For any privacy question, contact
support@lols.gg.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted at this address with an updated date.
