Coming from IRL Pro

Your settings move across in one paste, and your bonding keeps working. Here is exactly what carries over and what to set up fresh.

IRL Pro built the audience for phone based IRL streaming on Android, and plenty of people are still happily using it. Its last Play update was September 2024, so if you have been looking for something under active development, this page is for you. LOLS IRL is on Google Play, free, and shipping updates regularly.

You do not have to uninstall anything to try it. The two apps are separate installs with separate settings, so you can keep IRL Pro exactly as it is while you test.

The quick part: import your setup from a link

IRL Pro and Larix Broadcaster both export their settings as a larix:// link. LOLS IRL reads that link directly, so your encoder settings and your destinations arrive without you retyping a single host, port or stream id.

  1. Export from IRL Pro or Larix. In its settings, use the export or share option that produces a settings link. It starts with larix://set/v1?. Send it to yourself, or copy it straight to the clipboard if both apps are on the same phone.
  2. Paste it into LOLS IRL. Open Settings, tap Import from IRL Pro, paste the link and confirm. The app tells you how many destinations it added.
  3. Check, then switch on. Imported destinations arrive switched off on purpose, so nothing goes live before you have looked at it. Open each one, confirm the details are what you expect, enable the ones you want and go live.

What carries over

SettingImportedWhat to know
ResolutionYesClamped to what your phone can actually encode, which the app probes and shows you.
Video codecYesH.264 and HEVC.
BitrateYesYour figure becomes the ceiling. Adaptive bitrate works below it and climbs back when the connection allows.
Keyframe intervalYesCarried across as set.
SRT destinationsYesHost, port, stream id, passphrase and AES key length, plus latency.
SRT latencyYesKept, and clamped to a sane range. The app shows the round trip it measures so you can judge the number.
RTMP and RTMPS destinationsYesThe URL comes across and RTMPS is detected from it. Check the stream key on each one before going live.
Destination namesYesSo you can tell them apart straight away in the list.
Bonded destinationSet up freshBonding services are not interchangeable. Takes about a minute: see below.
Scenes and overlaysSet up freshDifferent scene model, composited on the GPU rather than layered as views.

A malformed or partial link never breaks the import: whatever the app can read, it takes, and it guesses at nothing.

Setting up bonding here

Bonding needs a receiver at the far end that speaks BELABOX compatible srtla, and every app brings its own. Yours will be one of these two, and the app treats them the same:

Either way, the whole setup takes about five minutes end to end: bonding in five minutes is the walkthrough.

What feels different

Keep both installed while you test. Import your setup, run a short stream on bonding, kill Wi-Fi on purpose and watch what happens. That is the test that tells you whether to move across, and it takes ten minutes.
